Two suspects were arrested with 372 forged 100 US Dollar notes in Kantale on Monday, police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the Divisional Detective Bureau of the Kantale Police arrested the suspects in connection with the offence of printing and possession of fake currency notes.
One of the suspects had 341 fake notes while the other was found with 31 notes in his possession.
DIG Rohana said the suspects would be handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
He said the police will trace the location where the fake notes had been printed and the other suspects involved in the racket would also be arrested.
