A special traffic plan has been devised in view of the 73rd Independence Day celebrations to be held on February 4 at the Independence Square in Colombo.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said traffic would be restricted during rehearsal sessions on January 30, 31 and February 1, 2 and 3 at Independence Square.

Traffic will be restricted from 6 am to 1 pm on rehearsal days and from 4 am to 1 pm on February 4 around the Independence Square and its vicinity.

He said policemen deployed at relevant points would direct motorists to use alternative routes during this period.
