To heads of all Govt. institutions Transform institutions to income generating ones: Treasury

The Secretary to the Treasury has instructed heads of all Government institutions to steer their management to take strategic measures to transform their institutions into income generating ones and also profit earning efficient institutions.

Secretary to the Treasury S. R. Attygalle has made these remarks as the government spends vast amounts of money for the promotion and well-being of these institutions.   

The circular also states that before requesting money from the treasury in their difficult situations, these institutions should consider the possibility of utilising the money they have already invested in fixed deposits and treasury bills.
