The time period granted to the general public to hand over to the nearest police station any sword or Kris knife kept in their possession illegally has been extended by 48 hours.

Last Saturday, the police requested the general public to hand over illegal weapons in their possession to the nearest police station before Monday midnight. However, the police headquarters extended the time period till Wednesday midnight.

In the recent past, the law enforcement authorities seized a large number of swords and knives from various parts of the country.
