Sri Lanka’s National Covid-19 task force has made arrangements to make available another 03 days for Parliamentarians to get the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccination next week, Serjeant-at-Arms of the Parliament Mr. Narendra Fernando said yesterday.
He said that the new dates will fall from February 23 to 25 for the MPs to get the jabs voluntarily at the Army Hospital in Narahenpita, Colombo. “They can receive the vaccine between 8.30 a.m. and 12.30p.m. on all three days,” he said.
“It was decided to continue the process of vaccinating, since most of the Parliamentarians will be in Colombo next week as the parliamentary sittings are scheduled,” he added.
It was revealed earlier that around 24 MPs including Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene had received the vaccine.
