The Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) has informed the Colombo Magistrate that a special investigation has been launched on 28 National Thawheed Jamath (NTJ) members who are believed to have attended lectures conducted by its leader Zahran.   

It was reported that the suspects had undergone training on handling weapons and had been taught the ISIS ideology.   


The suspects were taken into custody after the April 21 terrorist attack and are now being investigated under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).  
They have undergone training in centres throughout the country under NTJ leader and studied the ISIS ideology through video clips. 


It has also been found that they had earned millions of rupees in a short period of time. It was reported that investigations are being carried out on this aspect as well.   
Some of the suspects include Mohemed Musthafa, Mohemed Rizwan , Mohemed Razik of Delgoda Hingula Mohemed Idas and Nijabdeen Mohemed Sahid of Anuradhapura.
