Swords, knives recovered in Maligawatte

• 46 swords, a pistol and kris knives were found inside a public well, adjacent to R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium wrapped in a fertilizer bag

A haul of swords and kris knives were recovered at a public well, adjacent to R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Maligawatte yesterday.   

At least 46 swords, a pistol and kris knives were found inside the well wrapped in a fertilizer bag. During the search, the police had also recovered 10g. of Ice (methamphetamine).  
The Police suspect that following a cordon search operation that was carried out by the police and the security forces, some individuals might have disposed them in the well.  
The Maligawatte police are investigating.
