Statement recorded over child abuse video

The National Child Protection Authority is to record statements from individuals who had made references on the child abuse video which went viral on social media, sources close to the Authority said.  

They said a statement was recorded from actress Piumi Hansamali and another statement is to be recorded on a future date.


A separate investigation is underway over the Gem businessman who had allegedly been connected with the voice record. A special investigation would be carried out over Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake. Separate investigations were carried out by the CID, the sources further added.
