The Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy re-opened for pilgrims yesterday after having been closed for some three months because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision to reopen the Temple of the Tooth was taken by the Diyawadana Nilame and the Basnayake Nilames of the four Devalas at a meeting yesterday .
Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara said the pilgrims who worshiped the Sacred Tooth Relic yesterday performed their rituals under the guidelines issued by the health authorities.
