If there is a serious risk of COVID-19 in any part of the country, the Government led by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will inevitably impose curfew in such areas, Army Commander Shavendra Silva said yesterday.
He said any part of the country could be considered as a risk area for COVID -19, even if one infected person was found in those areas. He disclosed that curfew has already been imposed in areas identified as high risk areas for coronavirus.
While further revealing that 88 persons tested positive for COVID -19 on Thursday, he explained that 22 of them were from quarantine centres while 46 persons were close contacts of apparel workers.
Most of those infected were residents of Minuwangoda, Gampaha and Katunayake areas, he disclosed, adding that two of them were residents of Colombo. Patients were also reported from the Wattala and Kandana areas.
