Permission to import motorcycles with conditions

• Discussion in this regard had been held recently with all the motorcycle import agents

Import permission would be granted for a one year period for importation of motorcycles by locally authorised dealers with the condition that the respective mother companies agree to establish manufacturing plants in the country, Transport State Minister Dilum Amunugama said.    

He said a discussion in this regard had been held recently at the Ministry with the participation of all motorcycle import agents. During the discussion, the State Minister stressed that import permission would be granted with conditions for the companies who are prepared to come to an agreement with the Government to establish their manufacturing plants in the country.
