Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and a few other ministers will testify before the Parliamentary Select Committee probing the Easter Sunday carnage.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe, Minister of Public Administration, Disaster Management Ranjith Madduma Bandara and Minister of Ports and Shipping Sagala Ratnayake who held the Ministries of Law and Order in the past and State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene will testify before the committee sessions today, a select committee member who did not wish to be named said yesterday.

Asked whether the Prime Minister and the Ministers are going to be the last lot to testify, he said the committee might have to summon a few more persons if the need arises.
A large number of State officers, retired officers, police and intelligence officers’ politicians both from the government and the opposition have already testified before the select committee which was appointed in June this year.
