The oxygen availability in hospitals in Sri Lanka is being assessed following a directive by the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry has directed all government hospitals to assess oxygen stocks as more patients infected with the coronavirus have been admitted to hospitals.
Intensive Care Units (ICU) are about to reach full capacity, and this has resulted in the need for more oxygen. There are two main suppliers of oxygen in Sri Lanka and they have informed the Health Ministry that they have adequate stocks to meet the current demand.
