A businessman had been shot dead and another injured when two unidentified gunmen opened fire at them while they were travelling in a Land Cruiser early last morning at Jambugasmulla in Kohuwela.
The police said the injured were admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital and the driver of the Land Cruiser succumbed to his wounds after admission to the hospital. The deceased was identified as 38-year-old Susil Ruwan Perera, a resident of Udahamulla.
The injured person, 40-year-old Indika Roshan, a resident of Thalapathpitiya was transferred to the Colombo National Hospital. No one had been arrested in this regard and the Kohuwela Police are investigating.
