National Police Commission, Election Commission members assume duties

The members of the 6th Commission of the National Police Commission and the Election Commission assumed their duties yesterday.   

The official commencement of the duties of the NPC was held under the patronage of Chairperson (Retired Inspector General of Police) Chandra Fernando at the BMICH auditorium.   

The other members of the commission who assumed duties were; Sirisena Liyanagama, A.S.P.S. Priyantha, N.S.M. Samsudeen, M.P. Premasiri Perera, T. P. Parameswaran and Gunapala Wickramage.   
Senior DIG (Administration) Jagath Abeysiri Gunawardena, Western Province Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon, DIG Ajith Rohana and Acting Director of the Police and Public Relations Division, SP Buddhika Manathunga also attended the event.   

Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Election Commission Nimal Punchihewa and the newly appointed members of the commission also assumed duties in their new posts yesterday.   

The newly appointed Commission comprises of Chairman Nimal Punchihewa and members M. Mohamed, S.B. Divaratne, K. P. P. Pathirana and Jeevan Thiyagarajah.
