The National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) said it would consider regulatory clearance of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine only after its listing for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO), an official said.
Newly appointed NMRA Chairman Dr.Rasitha Wijewantha told Daily Mirror his office was awaiting the WHO emergency listing of the vaccine.
China has also donated vaccines to a number of countries. China has also become the world’s largest vaccination nation.
