Message from Russian President Vladimir Putin on Independence Day

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his message of congratulations to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on the eve of the Independence, expressed confidence of further development of bilateral ties.    

He said in his message, “Please accept sincere congratulations on the occasion of the National Holiday of your country - Independence Day.  

The relations between Russia and Sri Lanka are of a traditionally friendly nature. I am confident that the further development of constructive bilateral cooperation in the various fields fully meets the interests of our peoples, and is in line with the strengthening of the regional stability and security.  

I wish you, Mr. President, good health and every success, and to all your fellow citizens – well-being and prosperity.”
