Kalinga Indatissa re-elected head of BASL for 2020-2021

President’s Counsel Kalinga Indatissa was re-elected uncontested as the President of the Bar Association for the year 2020-2021.  

 In 2019, Kalinga Indatissa PC has been elected as the 25th President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka for the year 2019-2020, after securing a clear majority over his rival candidate Mahinda Lokuge.   


Speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said that during the election, Attorney-at-Law Rajeev Amarasuriya was appointed as the Secretary of the Association.   


The nominations of Attorney-at-Law Rajeev Amarasuriya were tendered for the post of the Secretary of the BASL for the year 2020/2021, which has been proposed and seconded by K. Kanag-Isvaran, PC; Faisz Musthapha, PC; Romesh De Silva, PC; Ikram Mohamed, PC; Anil Silva, PC; Sanjeeva Jayawardena, PC; Shamil Perera PC; Kushan de Alwis PC; Kuvera de Soysa PC; Mohan Weerakoon PC; Dr. Sunil Coorey and Amal Randeniya.   


This was noted in a press releaseby the BASL earlier.
