A soldier attached to Paranthan Army Camp had allegedly stabbed his wife to death over a family dispute, the Defence Ministry said, adding that the incident had taken place last noon at a park in close proximity to Pannai Lagoon in Jaffna.
It said the victim, Hapuhettige Dona Roshani Kanchana (29) from Baddagoda in Beruwala, was a final-year student of Jaffna Medical College.
The suspect was arrested by the Jaffna Police along with a knife purportedly used to commit the murder. Investigations are underway.
