Indian situation will not impact SL’s import trading

  • Food importers say shipment delays might be possible

The worsening Covid -19 situation in India will have no impact on Sri Lanka’s import trading on essential items except for a slight delay in shipments, an importer said. 

Sri Lanka mainly imports essential items such as sugar, chickpeas and spice varieties from India.

G. Rajendran told the Daily Mirror that the situation had not affected the supply chain.
