High Court Judge Dhammika Ganepola yesterday remanded retired Maj. Ajith Prasanna till February 7 on charges of making defamatory statements against the Colombo Chief Magistrate and a High Court Judge at a news conference held on December 6, 2019.
It was organised by a group known as, ‘War heroes for Mother Lanka’.
At the inquiry Senior State Counsel Janaka Bandanara said the Rtd. Maj. had made defamatory and offensive comments against Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratna for releasing Rajitha Senaratne on bail and against High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitya.
