Four Air Force personnel were killed in a head-on collision between a three-wheeler and a truck at Dummaladeniya in Warakapola on the Kandy-Colombo Main Road last morning.
Police said the airmen were attached to the Ratmalana Air Force Camp and were returning to the camp after attending a funeral in Matale. One of the airmen was driving the trishaw while the others were seated behind.

The deceased airmen were identified as Ranjith Prasanna (28), Saman Kumara (37), Ruwan Sampath (38) and Chaminda Kumara (31) from Kosgama, Kahatagasdigiliya, Ballapana and Ampara respectively. The truck driver was arrested by the Warakapola Police who are conducting further investigations.
