All the government schools will be closed from today (July 13) until July 17, the Education Ministry said yesterday.
The schools were reopened on July 6, following closure for three months due to the COVID-19.
Minister of Education Dallas Alahapperuma said the government would instruct all international schools and private tuition classes also to be closed this week.
Schools were reopened for Grade 11, 13 and 5 on July 6. This was after the earlier closure of schools on March 13 following the initial outbreak of the disease.
Meanwhile a spokesman from the Catholic Church said all schools coming under its purview will also be closed from today.
