Five people from Dapiligoda in Agalawatta, who had contacts with a COVID-19 infected sailor, have contracted with the virus from him.
According to the Agalawatta MOH, the PCR tests confirmed that the parents, wife and 4-year-old daughter of the sailor and another relative were contracted with the virus.
The infected were admitted to the IDH Hospital. The sailor attached to the Welisara Navy Camp who was on leave tested positive for COVID-19 on April 25.
In addition, the sailor’s brother-in-law who had symptoms, was admitted to the Nagoda Hospital.
The area has been isolated and declared as a high risk zone.
