Amidst the battle to stem the spread of Covid-19 in the country, Sri Lanka yesterday reported five deaths due to the pandemic raising the death toll to 29. This was the highest number of deaths reported in a day in the country.
According to Director General- Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardane, a 46-year-old man from Colombo 2 who tested positive for the virus died on November 4 at the Pimbura Hospital. He had been suffering from a renal disease for a long time.
