State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake said yesterday a woman politician was also among those known to be using cocaine.
He told Daily Mirror that this woman politician was not a sitting member of Parliament. He said he had obtained this information from the Narcotics Bureau and several other responsible institutions.
“The issue will be resolved if all MPs go and get themselves checked. Only myself and Deputy Minister Buddhika Pathirana had done blood tests and revealed it to the public,” the state minister said.
When asked whether the CID have given him a date to make a statement, he said he was awaiting a date to do so.
The state minister said there were MPs from the Hill County, the Colombo District, Sabaragamuwa and the Gampaha District who were into drugs.
The MPs should get their blood tested so that this matter could be resolved
