The experts’ committee of Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) stressed that there should be provisions in the proposed new constitution to devolve power based on the 13th Amendment.
The EPDP led by Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda is an ally of the Government. The statement said the EPDP handed over its proposals to the committee involved in working out the new constitution.
The party observed that provisions should be included to strengthen the provincial council system.
