Ceylon Electricity Board Technological Superintendents Union has drawn the attention of the government on a severe threat of leaving the control of the national grid under a certain single group.
Having the entire control in the hands of one group of CEB may allow them to use the electricity arbitrarily. Therefore they ask the government to decentralise the control of the national grid, The Technological Superintendents Union
and Electrical Engineers Union Chairman A.G.U. Nishantha said.
The interim report of the Committee appointed to inquire into the incident of recent breakdown of electricity power has now been handed over to the ministry. However the union asks the committee to pay special attention to the technological aspect of the CEB before finalising the report.
The conflict situation between the Kerawalapitiya and Norochcholai Power stations has not triggered the recent power failure, he said.
