Seven more Covid-19 patients succumbed to the virus yesterday taking the toll of Covid-19 deaths in Sri Lanka to 116.
According to the Government Information Department, three females aged 50, 51, 90 and four males aged 48, 73,70, 78 are among the deceased.
The details of the victims are as follows,
A 50-year-old female, a resident of Colombo 02 was pronounced dead at the IDH after being transferred from the National Hospital, Colombo . The cause of death was identified as cardiac arrest and Covid-19 related pneumonia.
A 48-year-old male from Gothatuwa was reported dead at his residence. The cause of death was ruled as Covid-19 related pneumonia and chronic lung disease and diabetes.
A 73-year-old male from Moratuwa succumbed to the virus while receiving treatment at the Homagama Hospital. The cause of death was ruled as Covid-19 related pneumonia.
A 70-year-old male, a resident of Chilaw died at the Chilaw base Hospital. The cause of death was ruled as diabetes, high blood pressure and an exacerbation of pneumonia.
A 51-year-old female, a resident of Akuressa passed away at the Homagama Hospital. The cause of death was identified as Covid-19 related pneumonia and chronic kidney disease.
A 90-year-old female from Colombo 13 also died at the Homagama Hospital after being transferred from the National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death was ruled as Covid-19 related pneumonia.
A 78-year-old male from Maradana was pronounced dead on admission to hospital. The cause of death was ruled as lung failure due to Covid-19 infection.
