Church services are likely to begin from tomorrow after the government decided to allow religious observances to be conducted at places of worship with the congregation limited to 50.
Fr. Jude Chrishantha, the head of the Social Relations Unit of Colombo Archdiocese told Daily Mirror that priests were free to begin Sunday services tomorrow in keeping with the health guidelines stipulated by the health authorities.
“It has also been decided to make weekday services valid for Sunday worship so that an increased number of devotees could attend masses. Therefore if a person attends a service on a weekday he or she does not have to attend Sunday services,” Fr Chrishantha said.
Meanwhile, religious services are likely to begin at some of the Anglican churches as well.
