Minister Chamal Rajapaksa and SJB MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka were engaged in a showdown yesterday which came to near fisticuffs.   

 

When I look at the issue with regard to MP Ranjan Ramanayake it  reminds me of my days when I was not allowed to come to Parliament. The speaker at that time who did not allow me to come to Parliament is inside the chambers today

The showdown flared up when Field Marshal Fonseka accused that Mr. Rajapaksa during his tenure did not allow him to attend Parliament when he was in remand prison. “ When I look at the issue with regard to MP Ranjan Ramanayake it  reminds me of my days when I was not allowed to come to Parliament. The speaker at that time who did not allow me to come to Parliament is inside the chambers today,” he said.   


Mr. Rajapaksa who responded said it was he who allowed Field Marshal Fonseka to attend Parliament.
