UNP MP Ajith P Perera yesterday said he sees no reason for the party to remove him from the working committee.

Mr. Perera said he could not think of a reason as to why the party had removed him from its working committee. “ I don’t see any reason for the party to remove me from the working committee as I have only worked for the betterment of it,” he said.

Asked what action he would take against the move, the MP said the response should be a collective one as his removal from the working committee is not his individual business but a matter with the party. “There should be a collective response to our removal from the working committee as it is not a personal matter of mine but it is something to do with the party,” he said.

He also said Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa will definitely lead the new UNP led alliance and will be the party’s prime ministerial candidate of the alliance at the next general election.

  • There should be a collective response to our removal from WC
