COVID - 19 closes bank branch in Polonnaruwa

• Bank staffer quarantined
• Had associated with an affected person
• Mobile banking provided for customers

A staffer of the New Town Branch of the Peoples Bank, Polonnaruwa had been found to have associated with a COVID - 19 affected person, and as he was directed for quarantine, the Bank branch has been instructed to close temporarily effect from yesterday.  

This was stated by Dr. Indika Dangampala, the PHI of Thamankaduwa.  

With the closure of the bank branch, a mobile banking service is now been provided for customers for their convenience as arranged by the Bank’s Polonnaruwa Divisional office.
