A bogus Kachcheri operating in an upstair house in Karapitiya, Galle had been raided by the Panadura Anti Vice squad and fake Rubber stamps and other documents had been taken into custody along with a suspect.
The police had found 88 counterfeit official Rubber stamps, a computer, a Rubber Stamp making machine, forged Birth and Marriage certificates and various other replicated documents. Among those found there had also been fraudulently prepared assets certificates needed for overseas travel purposes.
The suspect posing as a businessman of the area had been engaged in this activity over a long period and there had been many who had obtained his services in obtaining forged documents.
