An International Conference of Bhikkhunīs was held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel recently as per a concept of Ven. Dr. Elizabeth Wo, a Vietnamese-American Bhikkhunī who was crowned Princess Asian US 2006.
Apart from Bhikkhunīs from Sri Lanka, Bhikkhunīs from other countries such as Nepal, Laos and Vietnam attended the conference where Ven. Wo offered alms to all Bhikkhunīs.
Ven. Dr. Elizabeth is an American-Vietnamese Bhikkhunī who received a doctorate in Buddhist philosophy in Sri Lanka. Prior to her ordainment, she was a talented entrepreneur apart from a crowned beauty queen.
