Assaulting PC narammala Deputy ps chairman remanded

Deputy Chairman of Narammala Pradeshiya Sabha Manjula Polgampola was arrested and remanded for allegedly assaulting a Police Constable, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said yesterday.  

He said the police constable who was on duty, was threatened and assaulted by the Deputy PS Chairman inside the Narammala Police Station at around 10.45 pm on Saturday.  
The constable was injured in the incident and was admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Hospital.  

The Deputy PS Chairman was arrested at the police station.   

He was remanded till July 3 after being produced in the Kuliyapitiya Magistrate’s Court yesterday, SP Gunasekera said.
