Sri Lankan Police have sent fingerprints and DNA samples of underworld figure Chandana Lasantha Perera alias ‘Angoda Lokka’ to India to ascertain whether he died in India, police said yesterday.
Police Spokesman Jaliya Senaratna said the information has been sent through the Indian High Commission in Colombo to the Indian Criminal Investigation Department.
“No test results were issued yet. If it is confirmed that it was in fact Angoda Lokka who died in India, there is no need to continue with further investigations. However, if the samples didn’t match, we will continue with investigations,” he said.
