The Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) attached to Palai Hospital has been arrested by the Army last Sunday for his alleged involvement in terrorist activities, police said.
Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said the suspect was handed over to the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) in Jaffna for further investigation. He also said the suspect had been detained at the Jaffna Police Station for interrogation.
The suspect was identified as Sinnaiya Sivaruban (41) who owns residences in Chavakachcheri and Jaffna.
