Nations Trust Bank (NTB) continues to strengthen its on-going support for the growth and development of small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) in Sri Lanka. With the introduction of the ‘Nations Business Conference’, a strategic initiative under SME business solution, the bank has created a platform for interaction and idea sharing for SMEs.

The first round of SME seminars was conducted in Ratnapura, Panadura, Matale, Maharagama and Jaffna during the first quarter of 2016. Learning the must-dos on growing their businesses effectively was a key component of these seminars which resulted in an encouraging participation from the region.

Currently SMEs play a key role in the country’s economy as they contribute to the economic growth whilst also providing an essential source of employment opportunities. The full potential of SMEs can be realized by empowering them with financial advice, human and financial capital and technical skills.

“At Nations Trust Bank, we realize the true significance of SMEs on our economy and thus have created a culture that supports entrepreneurial development,” said NTB Deputy General Manager SME Jayathilake Bandara.

“Our SME value proposition comprises of broadening the economic impact of our activities through consumer education and enterprise development. Our services aim to provide solutions that go beyond the best financial solutions,” he added.

NTB offers a customized portfolio of products to suit the varying requirements of the SME customers. A novel feature of Nations product for this segment is that customer compensation is received via reward schemes for completed business transactions.

Moreover, the bank offers dedicated relationship services to customers in line with the bank’s association with reputed entities including International Finance Corporation (IFC), German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), thus providing easy and flexible financing solutions.

NTB will continue to focus on improving customer engagement at all levels and will support diverse businesses of the customers.
