The Dambulla Economic Centre has come to a standstill as it is expected to be closed for a period of two weeks, it is reported.

The closure of outlets came after a person suffering from a respiratory ailment was admitted to the Anuradhapura Hospital on Tuesday. Some of the outlets were closed by the police and the health officers who inspected the centre after the said incident. As a result, the centre, usually a busy place  was found deserted yesterday.
Prices of vegetables crashed drastically as stocks were piled up. Some of the traders said the authorities had informed them the centre would have to be kept closed for a few days.
