A total of 88 players have been picked by the national selectors to play in the SLC Inter-Provincial fifty-over cricket tournament to be played in Dambulla and Pallekele from April 4-11. Each team consists of a squad of 22 players and will have reputed coaches handling the respective sides
This tournament will be used to pick the Sri Lanka squad of 15 for the ICC Cricket World Cup in England and also the Sri Lanka captain for the event.
Dimuth Karunaratne leads Kandy while Angelo Mathews will lead Dambulla. Lasith Malinga leads Galle and Dinesh Chandimal captains Colombo.

Chief selector said in a statement that Nuwan Pradeep is going to miss the world cup. How can he say that? Nuwan already played one day match to his club side SSC on 19th March Vs CCC. What is this? More over Danushka Gunatilleka played the same match and scored a 100 for his club side and is Danushka still in the injury list? why isn't he picked for the national duty in South Africa? My question is how are they playing club cricket when they in the injured list for the national duty. This is shame cricket officials don't know what is going on around them. This is ridiculous. Have they forcefully put this players in the national players injured list? who knows? Can anyone gives a proper answer to my questions?
