Reckless gambling by the crooks of the government will ultimately result in bringing misery to the poor private sector workers whose only fall-back after retirement is the EPF monies. Once these very same crooks tried to fool the innocent private sector worker by trying to introduce a bogus pension scheme - also with the intention of robbing the EPF monies, but that attempt ended up with a shameless fiasco.

A good lesson for our people who thought that share prices will be heading north everyday. This is what happens when you invest in the stock market just because everybody else does the same.

You have not heard of something called risk assessment and the educated matching of the risk/reward profile. Go buy yourself some books on Investing/Finance and you will be able to comment better on matters such as this.

Please do not touch innocent people's money which are being gathered as a last resort for them. (Private Sector employees)
Interest payable has also been lowered from 13% to 11%. Private sector employees including myself are the underprivileged working class in this country. Please leave us alone and if possible pay us a higher interest if the country is processing to be the wonder of Asia.

Insider trading in stock market is the bad gambling. Worse than Casino.
Dinesh Tuesday, 05 June 2012 06:35 AM
Any investment is risky. Including FD. If the bank goes bankrupt your investment disappears or get nothing in return. Hotel trade, billions are invested in our hotel trade, but is a tsunami comes all gets washed away.
So, you cannot compare stock market to a casino...totally wrong.
Hariesha Ranasinghe Tuesday, 05 June 2012 06:13 AM
There's no argument that investments done by EPF in last three years are an utter waste of public funds. We should punish all those responsible by a future government as it seems that present government is not taking any action.
But equaling the stock market to a casino is giving wrong signals to students and public. So this is a very weak cartoon by the daily mirror cartoonist.
