Two Kfir Aircraft rehearsing a fly pass for the Air Force Anniversary celebrations have collided near Warana in the Gampaha district in the morning. President Mahinda Rakapaksa visited the place and observed the damage. The picture shows the wreckage of the crashed aircraft.     They were traveling at very high speed at a closer distance.

    Slight movement of the joystick, slight error in control hydraulics , unusual air pressure etc. make the air craft move away the line.

    Due to a reason still unknown they came too closer and wings of two air crafts collided with each other.

    Last few days we saw their thundering display in Ratmalana sky. Today also we were looking for them. They were to follow other aircrafts (Helicopters and F 7) at 9.30
    but later we got this bad news.

    Somehow mid air collisions are not unusual in air force displays.
