Just becuase courts were in this location for 100 years why can't change it now. The fact that courts are there over 100 years is the very fact that why we should move it to better locations. In fact present place is very congested with little room for improvement. We need infrastructures with better facilities. Lawyers are fighting for their familar habitat without considering better environment for all stake holders including judges, public and law fraternity.
Although ambit of law is a conern for laweyers, government has prerogative to set up new court structure, buildings, locations upon following correct procedure. We expect government to uphold basic rights of citizens including right for better access to leagal remadies with procedural and physical improvements and changes to present status.

Locations of the government departments must be decided according to town planing and better facilities should accompanied for people who are using those. But protesting for any decision specially this kind of decision shows how Sri Lankans are crazy?

If it is to be shifted to another convenient location, the entire court complex should be shifted, I mean all the courts in the vicinity of Hulsdor., if only the Magistrate courts is to be moved, then demarcation of courts will not be an ideal solution.
