More than India winning, it was the Lankans that lost. Kapugedara was useless, contributing with neither the bat nor the ball - fielding was atrocious, but then the entire Lankan team had a very bad fielding day. Usually, the Lankans are known for our fielding, but when it comes time to perform, we let ourselves down. Simply put, we are not "finishers". We can take it all the way to the last stage, and then we don't know how to convert to a winning finish.

Throughout the match yesterday, I felt, India was playing against 11 true gentlemen! No sldgeing, no war of words-even when defeat looked quite certain for the Sri Lankans. The GenX India should learn a lession from this composed behaviour of the Lankans. Trully a 'world cup' final!! Definitely will go a long away to again make cricket a gentleman's game. The Aussi domination seems to be over!

One of the best & even finals of WC ever. Srilanka deserved to be in the finals and did their duty very well.
With the WC win , it is now official that the Cricketing power has shifted to India.
