Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka while being escorting to the High Court stated that the Government took weapons on loan to win the war and now they are repaying it. He said the government will not be able to redress the masses for an interminable period. Pix by Pradeep Dilrukshana

Look at the discipline of the man. No hospital stay for him like some others. He is sitting it out in prison. That itself is remarkable. Like him or hate him, you can't deny where the discipline of the forces to win the war came from. It's a shame that he and the President who took on the west and provided crucial political leadership couldn't work out a partnership for post war Sri Lanka.
