Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, the National Mobile Telecom Service Provider, announced that it has carried out a successful trial of LTE (Long Term Evolution) Technology achieving speeds of up to 96 Mbps. Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has set another record in the region for the third consecutive time demonstrating broadband speeds of up to 96Mbps in downlink and 49Mbps in uplink using LTE technology. All these are pure marketing gimmick, forget about 4G , I have a 3 year old ADSL line and the speed keep decreasing day by day ...

Yesterday one said 21.... today another says 96....
guys get real.... we know none of them can porvide these speeds...........
as long as we keep quite.... these guys will sell anything including timbattu.....

I can't even get the 3G signal in Urumbirai-Jaffna...whats the point of 4G. I cannot foresee how these companies could able to recuperate their investment....

It is a leap forward,but facilities which receive for Urban areas should flow up for rural areas also.therefore,we all,the majority in Sri Lanka is still far behind goal of the development.it propose to arrange a better plan to link the town and the far most areas in Sri Lanka,like padaviya,Welioya and Sri pura in Anuradhapura.
