A tense situation prevailed outside the United National Party (UNP) headquarters Sirikotha today when Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) monks and supporters staged a protest over the attack on BBS monks last week inside Sirikotha. UNP MPs Ravi Karunanayake, Ruwan Wijewardena and National Organizer Daya Gamage stepped out of the UNP headquarters to express regret to the BBS members on behalf of the UNP for any inconvenience they might have unknowingly caused to them. Why don't they confine themselves to temple activities instead of roaming around the streets causing unrest and making a general nuisance of themselves? Is this the philosophy they preach?
