A van that skidded off the road this morning at the Napewatta Junction crashed into a wayside boulder causing serious injuries to the driver. Residents of the area gathered at the scene, evacuated the driver who was trapped in the wreckage and rushed him to Watupitiwala hospital. He underwent surgery immediately. Police said the driver had lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed. Further inquiries into the incident are being conducted. Pic by Pushpakumara Mallawarachchi
Good...these vehciles need to be displayed on the main road for at least a week. This will be a good message to our drivers.

Common sense, not to speed & wear your seat belt. But our people believe that since wearing belts is only applicable for newer vehicles, safety is not a concern. What a stupid law, it should apply to everyone.
