At least 83 sea turtle eggs, which have been recovered from the Galle Face beach a couple of weeks ago during a beach cleaning programme by the Navy, hatched and the hatchlings were released into the ocean yesterday. The cleaning programme was part of the ‘Green and Blue Project of the Sri Lanka Navy. (Pix by Navy)

Hope Gotabaya will release that poor Elephant "jailed" in Bellanwila Temple. This poor animal does not deserve this suffering. We should have COMPASSION to all beings. Gota ball is in your court!

When few other countries making delicacy from the innocent creatures like this ,its a nice gesture to symbolise Country and Nation simplicity of Sri Lanka. Priceless....

From my experience at Unawatuna, the babies make their way to the sea at night to escape predators. As such this display would have ended up with most of the babies eaten up. Sad.
